When you create an account, apply for agreements, or list a startup, you may provide:

  • Business Information: Startup name, description, app URL, and associated details.
  • Agreement Data: Handshake Agreement terms, equity split details, and Action Plans.
  • Financial Information: Stripe account connection details for revenue-sharing and payouts.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use MakerLauncher, we automatically collect:

  • Usage Data: Interactions with the platform, agreement history, and action tracking logs.
  • Device & Connection Data: IP address, browser type, and device information.
  • Security & Authentication Data: Login attempts, session activity, and JWT token verifications.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data to:

  • Facilitate Handshake Agreements: Ensure transparency between Makers and Launchers.
  • Secure Transactions: Enforce revenue-sharing and Stripe-based payouts.
  • Enhance Platform Security: Detect fraud, enforce platform rules, and prevent abuse.
  • Improve User Experience: Analyze trends and enhance platform performance.
  • Comply with Legal Obligations: Maintain compliance with financial regulations.

MakerLauncher does NOT sell your data to third parties.

4. Data Security Measures

We implement strict security protocols to protect your data, including:

4.1 Database Security

  • PostgreSQL Database hosted on Supabase's enterprise-grade infrastructure.
  • Row Level Security (RLS) ensures users can only access their own data.
  • Encrypted connections (TLS) secure all database interactions.

4.2 Authentication Security

  • JWT-based authentication for secure logins.
  • Secure password hashing (never stored in plain text).
  • Rate limiting prevents brute force attacks.

4.3 Data Access Controls

Strict user role policies:

  • Makers can only access their own app listings.
  • Launchers can only see their own applications.
  • Chat messages are only visible to participants.
  • Profile visibility is role-based and user-controlled.

4.4 API Security

  • All API requests require JWT authentication.
  • Rate limiting to prevent API abuse.
  • CORS protection to prevent unauthorized cross-site access.
  • SQL injection protection via prepared statements.

4.5 Infrastructure Security

Hosted on Supabase's secure infrastructure with:

  • DDoS protection
  • Regular security updates
  • Automated backups
  • Data encryption at rest

4.6 Data Privacy

  • User data is compartmentalized to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Personal data is protected by RLS policies and not shared without consent.
  • Sensitive data (passwords) are never stored in plain text.
  • Uploaded files are secured with access controls.

5. Revenue & Payment Data

  • To ensure revenue transparency, Makers are required to connect Stripe before agreements can proceed.
  • Payment processing is handled via Stripe
  • Revenue is split automatically according to the agreement terms using Stripe, after MakerLauncher's 5% platform fee is deducted and any wait periods specified in the account setup.
  • Launchers are entitled to revenue payouts of 50% after Stripe and MakerLauncher platform fee's during active Handshake Agreements or based on vested equity share after handshake agreements end.

6. Compliance & User Rights

6.1 Compliance Features

We follow data protection best practices, including:

  • Audit logs for key platform actions.
  • User consent management for agreements.
  • Secure data deletion policies upon user request.

6.2 Your Data Rights

As a MakerLauncher user, you have the right to:

  • Access your data stored on the platform.
  • Request deletion of personal information (except data tied to active agreements).
  • Update or correct your personal details at any time.

7. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

MakerLauncher does NOT sell user data.

We may share minimal user data in the following cases:

  • Third-Party Mediation: If mediation is requested, we may share:
    • User names
    • Agreement details (including action logs and equity terms)
    • Relevant messages or records
  • Legal Compliance: If required by law, we may disclose data to comply with regulations.
  • Payment Processing: Stripe handles all transactions, and their privacy policy applies.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Your data is stored as long as you have an active account.
  • Completed agreements remain on record for transparency and dispute resolution.
  • You can request account deletion, but past agreements remain part of the platform history for compliance.
  • MakerLauncher retains anonymized data for platform analytics.
